Things to note...!
YOUR ARRIVAL
Check in is between 3pm and 8pm. We would be really grateful if you could let us know your approximate time of arrival.
At certain times of year the track can be a bit tricky if you are not used to driving over sand, but as long as we are aware of your arrival, we will be able to send somebody to ´rescue´you! Taking into consideration that we are located in quite a remote spot, with lighting powered by the sun, and difficult access, we are sure you will understand that other arrival times can only be considered in exceptional circumstances, and by prior arrangement.
Directions to our ´Bubble´will be emailed to you upon booking. We would of course be happy to arrange a taxi for you, in a comfortable air conditioned vehicle, with our regular transport company, who know the track well, and guarantee they will get you to our door, from anywhere in Morocco. Please do let us know if you would like more information about tariffs.
YOUR DEPARTURE
We kindly ask guests to vacate their rooms by 11am on their day of departure, so as to be able to prepare the room for the next guests. However should you need more flexibility, please just let us know, and we will see what we can do!
WEATHER AND WHAT TO WEAR!
Dar Danse is situated on the wild Atlantic coast. We are blessed with a fairly temperate climate, as during the hotter summer months, we have our own air-conditioning which blows off the ocean!
Generally speaking, the early Autumn is warm and calm, perfect for yoga and relaxing by the pool. The Winter here has lovely warm, sunny days, though of course there is a slight chance of rain now and again, and the evenings do get a bit chilly! The pool is open all year round, though only the hardiest actually swim in the winter - the rest of us paddle!! Spring is generally the windiest time, when kite surfers are in their element! Summers are never too hot, due to the refreshing winds. And no mosquitoes!!
We always say that there can be four seasons in one day at certain times of year, so we always advise guests to bring layers! Summer clothes for day times, and something cosy to wear in the evenings!
MEALS
We are a long way from the bright lights of the city and restaurants etc ( 47km to Essaouira) and so guests tend to like to take most of their meals here.
We therefore offer a very special full board supplement of 29€pp, if this is booked and paid for in advance. This includes all meals, plus afternoon tea. (We are sure you will understand that, as this is a very special price, no refunds can be made for any meals not taken)
Should you not wish to take advantage of this, we will assume, unless you tell us otherwise, that you will require dinner in the evening, and this will be charged at 20€. Lunch can be confirmed with us the evening before, for 15€pp.
We offer a daily changing set menu. Please do let us know as soon as possible if you have any special dietary requirements. Please see Our Food page for more details!
MEDICAL MATTERS
A friendly and reliable doctor is on call at all times. Medicines such as Nurofen etc are not always easily available, so do bring your usual holiday remedies with you! We do have several dogs, donkeys and a horse here at Dar Danse, so if you have any allergies please ensure you bring any necessary anti-histamines etc!
Please ensure you let us know in plenty of time, of any serious food allergies or dietary requirements.
There are no specific immunisations required for our area of Morocco, but below is a link to a website, providing information regarding recommendations.

ELECTRICITY MATTERS!
Our electricity is generated by the sun, and whilst this is generally plentiful in Morocco, it is wise to have your own back-up...IMPORTANT! Please bring a torch with you!!!
We are sure you will understand we have to take every precaution to keep our electricity consumption to a minimum and so we are unable to provide fridges and tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms. (However never fear, early morning tea can be brought to your room upon request!). Similarly, unless you are absolutely joined at the hip with your hairdryer etc, please try to leave it at home, as this can cause a power failure - the sun does an excellent job!!!
INTERNET ACCESS
Due to our remote location, our wifi connection is via satellite, and is VERY limited and should be considered a bonus, and not a certainty! In any case, we would ask that you only use the internet during the day for absolutely essential emails, and any downloads, social networking etc, should be saved for night time, when the internet is unlimited - when it works! (between midnight and 8am in summer, or 11pm - 7am in winter).
Please note that during school holidays, or when we have several younger guests staying, we may need to switch the internet off every now and again, so as to be able to monitor usage...!! The perfect excuse to get the kids off the iPad and out inot the fresh air! In any case, we would encourage all our guests to let the world know that they will be ´stepping off´for a while...!
PAYMENT FOR EXTRAS
We are happy to accept cash in GB pounds, Moroccan dirhams, and Euros. (Your deposit and balance, inc any pre-booked meal supplements, can be paid by credit card/ PayPal).
ANIMAL SANCTUARY
Over our years in Morocco, various four-legged waifs and strays have found their way to our bubble, and we are now in fact in the final stages of setting up a small animal sanctuary within the Dar Danse grounds. Should you have room in your suitcase, for any unwanted dog collars, leads, toys, chews, bowls, bedding etc etc, they would be very gratefully received!
LOCAL FAMILIES, ORPHANAGE
We also collect baby/childrens' clothes, toys, games and books to distribute to needy families in the local area, and to our local orphanage. Visits can be arranged to visit the orphanage, so that you can see for yourselves the joy these small gifts bring!
We have a 'nearly new' rail of adults' and childrens´clothes, from which funds go towards our animal charity. Also if you have any unwanted books / games etc, both children and adult, we would gladly give them a new home! (So in other words, anything you no longer want, that is all in one piece, would be very welcome here at Dar Danse!)
PLEASE NOTE
Please note that only food and drinks purchased here, can be consumed on the premises. We are not able to offer self catering facilities.
We regret that the building and grounds are not accessible to those with restricted mobility.
No smoking in the rooms or public areas.
We hope you will understand that our power supply is limited, and the generator has to be turned off at 11pm, and so all lights in the public areas must be switched off at this time. ( unless by prior arrangement, ie. a party etc!)
We are a million miles from the usual tourist trappings....please bring your torch...and a little sense of adventure!
